[10:55:19] <irc> <von_> Hi everyone. I'm currently struggling with an error when trying to update my yunohost from ssh.
<irc> <von_> The update is working, but when I'm trying a 'sudo yunohost tools upgrade --app' I get this :
<irc> <von_> Error: You cannot do this right now because dpkg/APT (the system package managers) seems to be in a broken state… You can try to solve this issue by connecting through SSH and running `sudo apt install --fix-broken` and/or `sudo dpkg --configure -a`.
<irc> <von_> Those listed commands didn't fix anything, and I can only upgrade system stuff via apt, not the yunohost command
<irc> <glenn:rice.id.au> Evening all!
<irc> <glenn:rice.id.au> Anyone here run synapse on their yunohost?
<irc> <glenn:rice.id.au> Anyone know the postgresql password so I can set myself as a matrix admin?
<irc> <glenn:rice.id.au> * Anyone know the default postgresql password so I can set myself as a matrix admin?
<irc> <Aleks[m]> @von_ : hmokay but do the recommended command print stuff ..? or do they just say "everything is fine / nothing to do" ?
<irc> <Aleks[m]> @glenn : it's in /etc/yunohost/psql
<irc> <glenn:rice.id.au> Great! Thanks. I knew it was somewhere like that... just had a mental blank and couldn't get the write google results... thanks again
<irc> <von_> Aleks[m] : The first one returns : 0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 22 not upgraded.
<irc> <von_> And the second one prints nothing :/
<irc> <Aleks[m]> von_: but yunohost still says to run these ?
<irc> <Aleks[m]> does "dpkg --audit" says something ?
<irc> <von_> Yes, running 'sudo yunohost tools upgrade --app' (or with --system) shows the error everytime
<irc> <von_> The audit returns :
<irc> <von_> The following packages are missing the md5sums control file in the
<irc> <von_> database, they need to be reinstalled:
<irc> <von_> dovecot-core secure POP3/IMAP server - core files
<irc> <von_> dovecot-sieve secure POP3/IMAP server - Sieve filters support
<irc> <von_> an apt install of those packages shows : dovecot-core is already the newest version (1:2.2.27-3+deb9u5).
<irc> <von_> Aleks[m] But removing them first involves removing the yunohost package :/
<irc> <Aleks[m]> von_: `apt install dovecot-core dovecot-sieve --reinstall`
<irc> <von_> thanks, it's running
<irc> <von_> Awesome ! I started running the upgrade again and it's working ! Thanks a lot, I wasn't aware of the "dpkg --audit" command :D
<irc> <Aleks[m]> von_: can you tell when the message started showing up btw ?
<irc> <Aleks[m]> anything in particular you did right before that ?
<irc> <von_> Well, chances are that I just used a regular "sudo apt update/upgrade" because of habits, and it messed with the yunohost process
<irc> <von_> I can only think of that
<irc> <Aleks[m]> hmmmmokay i doubt that it messed up the yunohost process because it's not incompatible, but that may indeed got triggered some issue
<irc> <Aleks[m]> could it be that the apt update/upgrade was stopped in the middle somehow ?
<irc> <von_> Can't honestly remember :/
<irc> <Aleks[m]> alrighty thanks anyway ;P
<irc> <von_> Thank YOU :D
