[09:26:43] <irc> <decentral1se> root2: there is no buster version of yunohost yet
[09:26:58] <irc> <decentral1se> re: not booting, it can be that some usb sticks don't play well with booting
[09:27:26] <irc> <decentral1se> if you search around, there are a few brands that always work, you might try one of those
[10:44:47] <irc> <wayneoutthere[m]> I always install via SD memory card on pi... I never even thought of usb and I'm not sure why.. :) definitely I have had no problems using SD as install image medium on pi3
[11:42:28] <irc> <cjd[m]> howdy folks, does anyone have any experience with running yunohost on an openwrt device (perhaps in docker) ?
[12:07:39] <irc> <dreamer> yunohost -> debian
[12:07:50] <irc> <dreamer> and hi cjd[m] :)
[12:08:00] <irc> <dreamer> but er. openwrt can run docker these days?
[12:08:08] <irc> <dreamer> I wouldn't put ynh inside a docker container
[12:08:17] <irc> <dreamer> doesn't make a lot of sense to run dozens of services inside a container like that
[12:08:38] <irc> <dreamer> the amount of persistant storage needed is also not really feasible there
[12:25:55] <irc> <cjd[m]> The reason I ask is because a lot of the types of devices which I would imagine to run ynh on are really a fit for openwrt, especially j2ffs for being gentle to the unmanaged emmc
[12:26:05] <irc> <cjd[m]> and that openwrt is setup specifically for those devices
[12:26:59] <irc> <cjd[m]> also for these types of devices, openwrt has an upgrade story, the upgrade story for debian is (I'm sorry) type dist-upgrade and say a heil mary
[15:10:35] <irc> <jkarlson:matrix.org> https://github.com/YunoHost/issues/issues/1255 is there a way to see todo items relevant for this
[15:17:50] <irc> <jkarlson:matrix.org> also, how does the upgrade between debian versions normally work?
[15:48:05] <irc> <Aleks_> jkarlson : basically, we shall provide a YunoHost migration (through the migration mechanism inside yunohost) such that when you press "Start" (or run the corresponding command) it will do everything needed for the migration to happen as smoothly and transparently for the end user as possible
[15:48:40] <irc> <Aleks_> so e.g. it will edit the /etc/apt/sources.list automatically, then run the dist-upgrade with appropriate options, migrate/change whatever file is needed (e.g. for the transition to php7.3) and so on
[16:06:53] <irc> <Aleks_> jkarlson : I edited the post with an attempt of todolist / roadmap
[16:10:19] <irc> <jkarlson:matrix.org> thanks
[16:11:36] <irc> <jkarlson:matrix.org> there is no way to start with debian buster with some buster branch
[16:11:38] <irc> <jkarlson:matrix.org> ?
[16:11:48] <irc> <jkarlson:matrix.org> and see, what breaks
[16:12:49] <irc> <Aleks_> i put a summary of what I found so far in the comment below the original post, you can try to use https://github.com/YunoHost/install_script/tree/buster-experimental to install it
[16:13:10] <irc> <Aleks_> but it's not 100% automatic, you might need to install some dependencies I forgot about
[16:13:28] <irc> <Aleks_> also I had to tweak the code of yunohost (espectially the control file), c.f. the patch that I mention
[16:13:42] <irc> <Aleks_> because of dependencies issues
[16:13:56] <irc> <Aleks_> so it's not straightforward, but doable if you know what you're doing
[16:14:03] <irc> <jkarlson:matrix.org> sure, I guess there is a way to submit fixes upstream
[16:14:28] <irc> <jkarlson:matrix.org> maybe speeup the migration a bit
[16:14:29] <irc> <Aleks_> and if you reach the postinstall, then you will see big errors about moulinette because the LDAP connector
[16:14:43] <irc> <Aleks_> then feel free to submit a pull request if you want ;P
[16:14:58] <irc> <Aleks_> at some point we'll open a branch like buster-unstable I guess
[16:15:35] <irc> <Aleks_> I'm busy with work until something like beginning of August
[16:16:06] <irc> <Aleks_> then depending of how motivated I am, I will work either on Buster or another feature (because ugh that whole migration thing is not so fun to work on alone)
[16:17:22] <irc> <jkarlson:matrix.org> stretch will drop security on 2020
[16:18:50] <irc> <Aleks_> ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
[16:19:09] <irc> <jkarlson:matrix.org> =o)
[17:30:36] <irc> <louis70> hello
[17:30:38] <irc> <louis70> french or english here ?
[17:31:24] <irc> <louis70> I'll try in english. I just finish my configuration of my yunohost on my rasperry pi but i have several issue
[17:31:47] <irc> <louis70> for example the admin password in ssh works but not in the admin panel
[17:34:39] <irc> <Aleks_> uh but it should...
[17:35:00] <irc> <louis70> very weird
[17:35:33] <irc> <louis70> ssh root@myipadress + password works
[17:35:54] <irc> <louis70> but ip local + root's password doesn't work
[17:40:32] <irc> <MayeulC> what's the yunohost dev room address again?
[17:55:21] <irc> <louis70> and i don't understant yunohost-reset-ldap-password
[17:56:24] <irc> <louis70> When i enter the temporary password in the admin panel : password incorrect, in the prompt when administration password asked : invalid password
[18:10:43] <anubis> MayeulC : dev@conference.yunohost.org
[18:41:29] <irc> <MayeulC> anubis: uh, is that a mailing list? I was wondering about a irc/Matrix address.
[18:45:07] <irc> <yalh76[m]> <MayeulC "what's the yunohost dev room add"> https://yunohost.org/#/chat_rooms_en
[18:46:43] <irc> <MayeulC> Ah, thanks yalh76 , I couldn't find the page again :)
[18:46:48] <anubis> MayeulC : no this is the Jabber/XMPP room
[18:47:12] <anubis> (i should have written xmpp:dev@conference.yunohost.org?join :p)
[18:47:46] <irc> <MayeulC> Ah, so many different syntaxes… :P
[18:48:00] <irc> <yalh76[m]> <MayeulC "Ah, thanks yalh76 , I couldn't f"> From https://yunohost.org/#/, go to `Documentation` an then `Chat rooms`
[18:48:18] <anubis> so many rooms :p
[18:48:30] <anubis> but all leading to Rome :-)
[18:50:09] <irc> <Aksel[m]> louis70: maybe a keyboard layout thing? Had similar problem, because my keyboard is not english (as on rpi is default).
