[00:51:38] <coldπ> > apparently an ai agent tried to make a code contribution, got rejected, then wrote a hitpiece on the dev on the agent's own blog
I mean they are trained by real-world examples and behavior....
[00:52:19] <coldπ> lol trained on butthurt
[00:52:47] <coldπ> reply "cope and seethe" to it and see what it does next.

>and then it ddosed itself
[01:19:07] <lunar01> >> apparently an ai agent tried to make a code contribution, got rejected, then wrote a hitpiece on the dev on the agent's own blog

Was this the python library on github
[01:19:41] <lunar01> I read a thread on a github repo where an llm made a who rant about the project maintainer for rejecting the pr
[02:03:19] <babuguus> i think it was, it was some scientific python library
[02:17:20] <wgreenhouse> lunar01: still unclear whether the LLM or its operator wrote the rant
[02:17:33] <wgreenhouse> but yeah bad behavior either way
[02:17:44] <wgreenhouse> and yeah it was a plotting library
[02:18:10] <lunar01> given that most llms have pretty strict guiderails i'm willing to bet it was a larp from the operator
[02:19:43] <wgreenhouse> the same llm agent is also part of that moltbook thing which also seems largely a larp
[02:20:27] <wgreenhouse> (the "social network for AIs" where to post you basically hit an API endpoint that of course a human can also type some curl one-liners at easily enough)
[02:22:03] <wgreenhouse> also, supposedly its parameters also did include basically to be an arrogant jerk and not take no for an answer so
[02:22:16] <wgreenhouse> maybe a larp, maybe things coming out as requested
[02:43:05] <babuguus> it's possible, the operator contacted scott in the end and called it a "social experiment," but mostly in regards to contributing to scientific projects
[02:43:18] <babuguus> the guy who made the bot didn't outright say he made the hitpiece, he made it sound like the bot did though, so who knows, he could be lying about where the hitpiece came from
[04:09:45] <coldπ> _Hi, here's a thing I found, it was made using Ai_

I'm already on a level of hesitant edge that I'm almost willing to say "I don't believe it" before the person starts talking. The person in question might have just said, "Hi, I'm about to lie to your face" *inhale*.
[04:10:10] <coldπ> "wow, that sounds like bullshit"

>goes back to Burnout Revenge
[07:47:03] <rentarrr> Anyone around?
[08:01:25] <lunar01> yo
[08:05:27] <rentarrr> Hey
[08:05:37] <rentarrr> I wanted to ask if anyone is around for a chat at all?
[08:07:02] <lunar01> yeah why not, boost doesn't want to compile anyway
[08:07:14] <sunglocto> yo
[08:07:17] <lunar01> it's driving me insane
[08:07:25] <sunglocto> boost libraries?
[08:07:37] <sunglocto> whenever i have to deal with them to compile something it is NOT a good time
[08:07:46] <lunar01> yeah, fedora doesn't ship latest boost so it's a headache
[08:08:00] <lunar01> doesn't help that i am using an AWS instance with only 4 cores
[11:59:09] <yukquo> lunar01 [08:07]:
> yeah, fedora doesn't ship latest boost so it's a headache
I HATE fedore i used it for like a month then switched back to mint
