Krita is good too. The best solution to me was a mix of gimp and krita. Fonts worked better in one, other stuff better in the other. Bit tideous but better than nothing. Maybe itgot better now

I used to use Paint.NET all the time so its pretty much just familiarity

I tend to think of krita more for digital art than the types of image editing I do. my more artist friends like it though

There was something it could do better than gimp back then. It is feature reach and can be used like photoshop too
