<彼岸> I am a native of China. I have lived in China since I was a child. China is very prosperous, its economy is healthy and stable, and with a rapid growth rate, China people are very happy every day
[02:49:40]
<彼岸> There are no robberies, beggars, and fights here. People can work stably and live a happy life every day. However, there are some foreign anti-China people who distort the facts through some things, use partial generalizations, and belittle China

Surely this is a distortion too, Mr. Tankie? 🙂
> Since 2014, the government of the People's Republic of China has committed a series of ongoing human rights abuses against Uyghurs and other Turkic Muslim minorities in Xinjiang which has often been characterized as persecution or as genocide. There have been reports of mass arbitrary arrests and detention, torture, mass surveillance, cultural and religious persecution, family separation, forced labor, sexual violence, and violations of reproductive rights.

<彼岸> I have a friend in Xinjiang who said it was fake
[09:35:52]
<彼岸> Where did you learn about this? You said that we China violated human rights in Xinjiang. We China people don't know about this. How did you know? I specifically asked a friend in Xinjiang, but he said no. Then where did you find out? Could it be from hearsay on the Internet? Has any authoritative news agency said this? Did you read this on the news in your country? If I read it on the news, it's all false. As a China, I touch my conscience and say: This is a rumor that foreign hostile forces belittle and insult China!

<wizzy> i live in xinjiang & i never even saw a uyghur, i dont think they exist
[12:21:28]
<strayson> Well i wonder why such alledged attrocities against Uighur minorities wouldn't be posted on chinese government sponsored or influenced media? (Irony)
[13:22:18]
<pereau> Ah, yeah, talking any politics on this channel always has gone so well. /s
[13:45:19]
<electro> What always is thought-provoking is how some are "concerned" or "ignorant" of Uighur but nobody gives a fuck about mass murder in over hundreds of millions per year, endless suffering, manufacturing workers are traumatized and paid very little all for a damn shitty overpeiced burger with beef in McDonald's put together by a struggling university student in deep dept. You don't need that shit to live and you always had a choice to not support mass suffering, but you do not give a fuck because this shit is institutionally normalized and you don't want to feel guilty and bloody toxic as your actions actually are yearly.
[13:46:01]
<electro> That matter aside,
*On Politics*
There are many reasons on why it is de-facto "prohibited," like:
1. The channel poses itself as "thematical," using it as an excuse for keeping and supporting the existing systemically toxic Status Quo that makes this chat and The Aria Network itself exist, meaning it is logically unsound to prohibit this topic since relevant to the server;
2. Talking politics per sw, esp. with good results and unwritten rules of conducting discussions, this is a very hard thin line to walk on, most fail, esp. moderators, they cannot properly moderate that, they never got education to do moderation, so they commonly decide to give up or dissociate, or to shut that topix off when feel like that or when don't like what's told;
3. Folks are stupid, simply put. Illiteracy is rampant (they won't even read this message, they can read only short ones at best, long makes them anxious), reading scientific articles raw is rare, reading peer-reviewed is rarer, reading with a knowledge on the subject allowing to recognize flaws and avoid a bad article is even rarer; The same in regards to sociology, psychology, manufacturing, anything difficult, complex or unclear. Arguing with them is useless, they, cynically put, are a failure of the education and news systems. Want to address their brains, address the systems they depend on is the only solution, they'll believe anything from these.

They dance all day. Another traditional spot to meet to show happyness is Tiananmen Square. One time happy students danced so much there that they had to close parts off it until today.
