<jakee7090> yo, what client do ya'll use for matrix? I'm struggling to find one that's not dogass
[17:44:35]
<just_a_rock> FluffyChat & SchildiChat are both decent.
[17:44:52]
<just_a_rock> Matrix doesn't really have good clients, it's a big problem🗿
[20:05:17]
<jakee7090> FluffyChat is definitely better
[20:08:25]
<gilor> Web-based, awful. I just want something like Gajim or Psi but for Matrix.
[20:10:58]
<just_a_rock> Both are :(
[20:11:31]
<just_a_rock> I want to try Nheko, but it's Linux only so I'll only be able to use it from my desktop.
[20:14:07]
<gilor> I'm using Nheko now, it's what I used last time I had a Matrix account. I don't see the point of having a mobile client as I never see a reason to chat when I'm out and about.
[20:14:27]
<gilor> Also, even if I did I would just use a different client then. There shouldn't be multi-platform clients.
[20:21:43]
<gilor> I would definitively prefer XMPP and it's more mature ecosystem if it wasn't for the fact that it's a mess because of how they have added so many feature over a time frame of over 20 years. And most clients don't support end-to-end encryption since that wasn't a feature from the start.
[20:25:58]
<just_a_rock> I have long work hours & usually can't use my computer at home because I'm asleep, so it's nice to be able to check for messages from my phone.
[20:26:50]
<just_a_rock> > <@gilor:aria-net.org> Also, even if I did I would just use a different client then. There shouldn't be multi-platform clients.
It's just that all of the existing mobile clients are kind of crap
[20:28:02]
<jakee7090> > <@just_a_rock:aria-net.org> I want to try Nheko, but it's Linux only so I'll only be able to use it from my desktop.
This is why we need mainline linux phone
[20:28:06]
<just_a_rock> Schildichat has most of Element's issues. FluffyChat lacks some security features & also has issues that come with being an Electron app.
[20:29:20]

I don't understand. Schildichat is also some web-based "app".
[20:29:44]
<jakee7090> I like fractal but it still lacks basic features
[20:29:46]
<just_a_rock> It is, & it has issues from that too.
[20:29:56]
<just_a_rock> It's just that the Element issues are worse lmao
